Mark has worked within the media industry since finishing at University 11 years ago graduating with a BA Hons Business AdministrationMarketing Major degree. Having worked with global clients across the Education and Property Industries, his ability to provide integrated customer service, communication and marketing to deliver effective and strategic outcomes has allowed him to stand tall against his peers. Mark has always been comfortable conversing with all levels of hierarchy and his effective consultation, negotiation and liaison with senior management level and stakeholders has always been key. The specialist arena of the Education marketplace offered many opportunities of market research, branding and brand development, and ATL, TTL and BTL campaigns. This resulted in Mark always working very closely with the creative, studio and digital teams to effectively plan and develop strategies with a focus for creative and innovative thinking. Using his sales background he held training sessions with his University clients to help deal with prospective students.
Moving into the Property arena, Mark continued to display his skills supporting the multi-disciplined teams to achieve client-focussed outcomes. He even individually wrote a press advert that appeared in the Financial Times for one of his Property clients. Developing and implementing global campaigns with clients based in the UK and across the Middle East has helped develop some very strong relationships with media representatives around the world. Mark's effective interpersonal and oral communication skills has helped him preach the same mantra - treating each and every client as an individual and never knowingly recommending something that wouldn't work.
Mark is a very keen sportsman, a passionate Liverpool FC fan and loves watching movies with his wife and friends. He adores his border collie, Martha. He also enjoys cooking, throwing together his own ingredients or following recipes and getting friends and family over to enjoy.
Jonathan Cant has been writing for 20 years in several fields and on several continents. His short stories have been published nationally and he has contributed to many publications as a travel writer and music reviewer. In more recent years, Jonathan has either freelanced or worked fulltime for Brisbane advertising agencies such as BCM, Mojo, Gallery and Toto across a range of categories including: Tourism; Property; Government; Retail; Education; Pharmaceutical; Healthcare; Food & Beverage; Recruitment; Banking & Finance; Insurance; Automotive; and Fashion.
Unlike most ‘ad agency copywriters’, Jonathan worked for many years in the real world of retail sales, dealing face to face with the public. This valuable experience made him more au fait with the wants and needs of consumers of every kind. His newfound passion for the communications industry was then born out of the realisation that creative energy, when applied correctly, can not only live happily alongside commerce but will indeed advance the cause of any product, service or message.
Jonathan brings an arsenal of knowledge to Gladiator, not only in terms of writing and conceptual ability, but through diverse life experiences. As a songwriter, for example, he is also able to add a musical dimension to campaigns. In his spare time, you might even find him cranking up the volume on his beloved Fender Stratocaster, or better still, down south with his partner wading in a fast running mountain stream and casting a fly to the elusive rainbow trout.
The Druid has been immersed in the fast-moving field of web development for over 15 years – almost as long as there’s been a world wide web as we now know it. Starting back when the web was in its infancy, The Druid worked on programming for the very first versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer.
As a finished artist/Mac operator turned web developer, The Druid is able to bring an added design sensibility to each project. He’s also completely self-taught as most universities at the time were still themselves only just learning the web based technologies.
In the mid 90s, The Druid was part of a team that built the first educational teaching based intranet in Australasia. He then worked with another team on the America’s Cup and Louis Vuitton Cup, disseminating live GPS and satellite data in 3D straight from the event. By the late 90s, he was developing – and excelling in – Flash-based content at the time of its inception with version 1.0.
Whilst in New Zealand, The Druid also worked on websites for major U.S. based Unilever brands Birdseye and Gorton’s frozen foods. He started working on search engine optimisation in 2000 with such leading brands as Wella Hair Care.
The Druid is currently working on websites for an array of businesses from real estate right through to perfume companies.
